ShortScience.org currently facilitates scholarly discussion of research papers after they have been published. Every research paper has a page on the site where researchers publish summaries that are voted on, ranked, and commented until the best and most accessible summary has been found. These summaries provide information beyond what exists in the abstract or paper such as expert perspectives, clarification of details, explanations of mathematical derivations, and criticism of the research.
I founded this site in 2016 with the goal of increasing the speed of the literature review process and increase the number of active researchers by decreasing the barriers to understand and improve on concepts.
